Accessibility
We want everyone preparing for a CDL to be able to use Examlane. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What works today
- Every part of a quiz works with a keyboard alone, in a sensible order, with a visible focus outline.
- Answer buttons are labeled for screen readers, and the result of each answer is read out.
- Right and wrong answers are marked in words and symbols, not by color alone.
- There are no time limits. Mock tests are untimed; the optional clock only shows the time and never ends a test.
- The number-key shortcuts can be turned off in Settings.
- Pages fit a 320-pixel-wide screen without sideways scrolling.
- Colors meet the AA contrast ratio, and the site follows your device's light or dark setting.
- Sample questions on the test pages work without JavaScript.
What is not done yet
- We have tested with keyboard and automated checks in desktop and phone-sized browsers, but not yet with VoiceOver on an iPhone or TalkBack on Android.
- Wide tables, such as the state table, scroll sideways inside their box on small screens.
